What to do after a loss
- Look after safety first. Make sure everyone is safe and call 911 if there are any injuries or an active emergency.
- Take reasonable steps to prevent further damage. For example, board up a broken window or shut off water if a pipe has burst, as long as it is safe to do so.
- Document what happened. Take photos or video of the scene and any damage, and gather contact information for any other parties or witnesses.
- Contact us or your carrier. Many carriers offer 24/7 claim reporting. If you are unsure who to call first, reach out to our office and we can guide you.
